Guiding Values

MUD Subdivision 3 is a great place to call home.  The beauty of the Lauritzen Gardens/Kenefick Park, the bustling Blackstone District, and our world famous Henry Doorly Zoo create an ideal place to find entertainment and raise a family.  It’s a place where neighbors look out for one another, local businesses thrive, and families find a sense of belonging.

Communities like ours are sustained by strong, reliable infrastructure. While water and natural gas distribution may not always be at the forefront of daily thought, the ability to rely on these essential services without concern is a clear sign that the system is functioning as it should.

PROTECTION & SAFETY

My default operating objective is the protection of home, family, and community. I will never compromise safety—mine or yours. The water delivered to your tap is a critical public health safeguard, and the natural gas that heats your home must be provided reliably, without interruption and without compromising the integrity of your property. I am committed to ensuring full compliance with all state and federal utility regulations and environmental standards, and I will hold these obligations as a fundamental responsibility to every constituent.

Investing in south/east omaha

Service interruptions over the past two years highlight the need for increased investment in critical infrastructure. Strategic use of federal funding available through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to modernize aging distribution systems and treatment facilities is necessary to reduce failures and extend the useful life of our utility assets. At the same time, MUD must plan responsibly for future growth while strengthening system resiliency to ensure reliable service for years to come.

Culture of accountability

Based on personal experience, I recognize that residents of MUD Subdivision 3 expect strong quality control and rigorous audit processes that protect ratepayers and their property while ensuring cost recovery is fair and equitable. I will advocate for maintaining healthy financial reserves to preserve the District’s strong credit rating. Most importantly, I am committed to transparency in rate setting and to strengthening competition in procurement and bidding processes to ensure accountability and responsible stewardship of public funds.
